At least 13 people, including three children, died after a Russian SU-34 fighter-bomber crashed on Monday in the town of Ieysk, near Mariupol on the Russian side of the Sea of Azov. The accident caused a huge fire in a building where about 600 inhabitants live.
Russian strikes, including those using kamikaze drones, killed at least eight people, including four in Kiev on Monday morning, a week after a first wave of massive strikes across Ukraine. Some explosions hit residential areas.
Several Russian strikes also targeted crucial Ukrainian infrastructure, leaving “hundreds of localities” without electricity, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Chmygal announced Monday morning. The strikes killed at least three people in the northeastern region of Sumy.
Moscow and Kiev carried out a new exchange of detainees on Monday, which involved 218 prisoners, including 108 Ukrainians, said the authorities of both countries.
EU foreign ministers agreed Monday to set up a training mission for some 15,000 Ukrainian soldiers starting in November.
