The cast of Little House on the Prairie seemed like a perfect family on screen. The historical drama, which aired on television from 1974 to 1983, featured Melissa Sue Anderson (Mary Ingalls), Melissa Gilbert (Laura Ingalls) and Alison Arngrim (Nellie Oleson) in prominent roles. However, it seems that there was some conflict behind the scenes. Things weren’t always what they seemed on the hit TV series. Here is one of the feuds that took place on the set of the series.

If you were a fan of Little House on the Prairie, you may remember the epic fights between Laura Ingalls (played by Melissa Gilbert) and Nellie Oleson (played by Alison Arngrim). While the two actresses were enemies on screen, they were best friends behind the scenes.

Melissa Gilbert’s real-life enemy at the time was actress Melissa Sue Anderson (who played Mary Ingalls). In her autobiography Prairie Tale, she talks about the tension between her and Anderson. Gilbert says Anderson was not friendly. When she joined the team, she thought she was “evil” and wanted to “kill” her.

This stormy relationship, Melissa Gilbert had talked about it in her memoirs, reports the site mskit.net. “From the beginning, for whatever reason, we never had a real relationship. She was a surprisingly pretty girl, and I wasn’t, or at least I didn’t think I was. »

According to her, Melissa Sue Anderson was “cold” and she never got to know her. “She was not easy to get along with,” she writes. “I think her reserve showed on screen and was certainly apparent off screen. »

In her biography Confessions of a Prairie B*tch: How I Survived Nellie Oleson and Learned to Love Being Hated, Alison Arngrim, the interpreter of Nellie Oleson has indeed lifted the veil on the many tensions between the two main actresses. She confirms that those who interpreted Laura Ingalls and Mary Ingalls hated each other.

According to her, besides, Melissa Gilbert would have even gone to see the other actors to warn them: “And whatever you do, beware of this Melissa Sue Anderson. She is very dangerous. She is diabolical and I hate her ».

Dutch actress Carice van Houten, best known for her role in the “Game of Thrones” series, was arrested on Saturday during a climate action organized by Extinction Rebellion in the Netherlands, according to local media.

The 46-year-old actress was part of a group of activists blocking the Utrechtsebaan section of the A12 freeway in central The Hague to protest against Dutch fossil fuel subsidies.

The police, who used water cannons to disperse the activists, announced on Twitter in the course of the afternoon that they had made arrests. Ms. Van Houten, who had previously indicated her presence at the scene on her Instagram account, “was taken away” in one of the buses chartered to evacuate the arrested individuals, the Dutch news agency ANP reported.

In a video she posted on the social network, the actress – who plays Melisandre in “Game of Thrones” – can be seen wearing a red poncho, getting wet from the water cannons.

This was the seventh action organized in recent months by the Extinction Rebellion movement on this stretch of road in The Hague. Several Dutch celebrities took part in these actions.

ina Turner died on Wednesday at the age of 83. One of the greatest voices in American music is gone. Her life, punctuated by tragedy, was not a long, quiet river.

Singer Tina Turner has died at the age of 83. Her spokesperson announced the news on Wednesday evening, sending shockwaves around the world. Tributes soon poured in from all over the world. “Tina Turner was an icon and her death is an immense loss,” said White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre on Wednesday, learning of the death of the “Queen of Rock” in the middle of a press conference, and revealing that she was “a very big fan” of the singer. She’s obviously not the only one, and it’s a safe bet that on Wednesday evening, the singer’s music was playing over and over again on phone playlists…

Tina Turner was ill. “She passed away peacefully after a long illness at her home in Kusnacht, near Zurich, Switzerland,” reads a press release from her manager. She had obtained Swiss nationality a few years ago. “With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model”, comments the star’s entourage.

Tina Turner was one of the last great ladies of American music, a true legend. On stage, with her firecracker hair and feline gait, she was a veritable lioness, earning the respect and admiration of the greats, such as Mick Jagger, who once explained that it was by copying Tina Turner’s body language that he had developed his own stage act! A fine compliment indeed…

Tina Turner, real name Anna Mae Bullock, was known not only for her insane charisma, inimitable voice and incredible energy, but above all for her many hits. Her hits include Simply the Best, What’s Love Got to Do with It, I Don’t Want to Lose You, Pivate Dancer, We Don’t Need Another Hero, Goldeneye for the Jambes Bond soundtrack, and many more. Tina has often sung duets with other stars: Bryan Adams, Eros Ramazzotti, David Bowie, to name but a few. It’s impossible not to hum the lyrics when you hear one of her hits on the radio! Which is likely to be the case a lot in the days to come…

A few words about his career. Her career really began in 1957. She was 17 when she met a certain Ike Turner, a small rhythm and blues musician with big aspirations, whom she eventually married five years later. With Tina by his side, Ike began to achieve the fame he had always sought. The two formed the duo Ike & Tina Turner Revue. A worldwide hit. But Ike is violent. Tina paid the price more often than not. In 1978, she found the strength to separate from her husband and mentor to pursue a solo career.

She does well. If she was already a success with Ike, her solo career literally exploded. She signed a contract with Capitol Records. Her first solo album, “Private Dancer”, released in 1984, was a huge success. She became a worldwide superstar, adored everywhere, selling records by the truckload and filling stadiums wherever she went. She was also seen in films, notably Mad Max. Over the course of her career, the “lioness of rock” won eight Grammys, the American music awards. But despite her success, her life has also been peppered with drama. In 2018, her son Craig shot himself in the head. And last year, his other son, Ronald, died of cancer.

The bassist of the Smiths Andy Rourke died of pancreatic cancer, announced Friday Johnny Marr, the ex-guitarist of this band flagship of English indie rock of the 1980s.

“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Andy Rourke after a long illness, pancreatic cancer,” wrote Johnny Marr on his Twitter account, linked to his official website.

“Those who knew him will remember Andy as a kind and beautiful soul, fans as an extremely gifted musician,” he added on Instagram. Hailing from Manchester, in the north of England, the band formed in 1982 and notably made a name for themselves with their album “The Queen is Dead”, released in 1986.

Plagued by heroin addiction and financial difficulties, Andy Rourke and drummer Mike Joyce had sued Johnny Marr and singer and lyricist Morrissey in a dispute over the distribution of their royalties after the band split in 1987.

An agreement had finally been found and the friendship between the bassist and the guitarist had survived. Morrissey has adopted an increasingly reactionary speech – he had performed in 2019 in an American show with a badge of a British far-right party. He was virulent towards his former comrades, before adopting a more conciliatory tone in his autobiography published in 2013.
