He collapsed on stage: an investigation was opened after the death in full concert of Costa Titch, figure of the rap scene in South Africa, said Sunday the police to AFP.
 
The 27-year-old artist “collapsed while performing in a concert” on Saturday nightin the suburbs of Johannesburg, police said. The cause of death has not yet been established, an autopsy is planned. 
 
The death of Costa Tsobanoglou, his real name, comes one month after the murder of another popular rapper in South Africa, Kiernan Forbes or AKA. The latter was shot by two men outside a restaurant in Durban (southeast). The investigation is still ongoing.
 
Costa Titch was known for his amapiano track “Big Flexa”, which recorded 45 million views on Youtube. He recently released a remix with the American-Senegalese rapper and producer Akon. Derived from house music, amapiano was born in the South African townships before becoming a global success in recent years.
 
On videos of Saturday night‘s concert widely shared on social networks, the white rapper, microphone in hand, collapses a first time, seeming to make a simple fall. He continues to sing but collapses again a little further on stage, the artists performing with him then rush to pick him up.
 
A flood of tributes flooded social networks on Sunday. “A great talent gone too soon,” tweeted South African rapper Da L.E.S. Leader of the radical left-wing EFF (Economic Freedom Fighters) party Julius Malema posted a broken heart with the name Costa Titch. The Southern African Music Rights Society said it was “saddened ».

American actress Shannen Doherty, who came to public attention for her role as Brenda in Beverly Hills 90210, died on Saturday at the age of 53, her agent Leslie Sloane told People magazine on Sunday. She had been suffering from cancer for several years.
 
“On Saturday, July 13, she lost the fight she had waged for many years against the disease,” said Leslie Sloane.
 
Born in 1971, Shannen Doherty quickly found her way into the spotlight, starting her career with a role in “Little House on the Prairie” in 1982.
 
From 1990 to 1994, she played Brenda Walsh in the cult classic “Beverly Hills 90210”, a role that brought her international fame. A few years later, from 1998 to 2001, she became Prue Halliwell in the series “Charmed”. Between several TV films and reality TV experiences, she also reunited with Brenda Walsh in the reboot of the series, “90210” in the late 2000s.
 
Shannen Doherty had been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. Some time later, the disease had returned, at stage 4. The cancer then generalized. She passed away on Saturday, surrounded by her loved ones.
